Overwhelming

531 miles walked. 1,385,5500 steps. 2,250 flights of stairs. As we come to a close on this experience, Europe has blessed us with an overwhelming amount of walking. An overwhelming amount of cultures and people, and an overwhelming amount of love that we were given from each new city.

Feeling a bit homesick, we are beginning to to miss certain comforts from home like taking a shower with normal water pressure and one that doesn't leak. We miss reading a menu in English and easily talking to any customer service employee or stranger on the street and we miss not having to remember an outlet converter everywhere we go. We are missing our homes as we are constantly sleeping in a new bed every 3 days and trying to connect to random WiFi at all times. We miss crossing the street at ease with pedestrian stop lights that count down before turning red. Free bathrooms and water in the US are also a plus.
But none of that outweighs the number of things we will miss from Europe. Like good public transportation and cheap airfare. Not getting IDed and beer being casual. We will miss the pedestrian right-of-way (except in Amsterdam, those bikes are scary). We will miss the amount of history everywhere we go has, miss easily walking anywhere, we will miss the architecture and inspiration it's given us.

It's surreal to think we are already headed home in a week as it feels like we were headed to Paris on our first class trip and standing in the brutally cold weather in front of the Eiffel Tower just yesterday. We had that overwhelming feeling of "Wow, I'm really traveling Europe and this is just the beginning". But as we count the number of places we have been, faces we've seen, and miles walked, it seems as if we've been here for a lifetime, so I want to say thank you.

Thank you, Brussels, for welcoming us with open arms and for giving us that comfortable feeling of home after the end of each overwhelming venture to a new destination.

Thank you, Europe, for the overwhelming amount of awes you've given us, for teaching us an overwhelming amount of culture and history, but always leaving us wanting to explore more.
And thank you, for making overwhelming euphoric.
